About
Klipchuck Campground occupies a forested setting along Early Winters Creek in the Methow Valley Ranger District, roughly 19 miles northwest of Winthrop off Highway 20. The campground sits at approximately 2,900 feet and provides access to several trails in the scenic highway corridor, including Driveway Butte Trail 481 directly adjacent to the campground and Cedar Creek Trail 476, which leads to a waterfall. The campground offers vault toilets and potable drinking water from a hand pump. Sites include picnic tables and trash receptacles. Each site can accommodate up to two tents or one RV and one tent. Early Winters Creek runs alongside but is closed to fishing per Washington State regulations. Klipchuck operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Payment is available on-site via QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app. The campground typically operates from May through late October, weather dependent. Maximum stay is 14 days.
