About
Horse Creek Campground is a scenic 9-site facility located along Horse Creek in the Shoshone National Forest, accessed via Forest Road 285 about 12 miles north of Dubois. Each campsite is equipped with RV parking, tent pads, bear boxes, fire rings/grills, and picnic tables. The campground provides drinking water from a hand pump and vault toilets for visitor convenience. The location offers excellent fishing opportunities in Horse Creek and other nearby streams, making it a popular destination for anglers. Food storage in bear boxes is required per the Shoshone National Forest Food Storage Order. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations, and visitors should be prepared to pay the nightly fee with cash or check. With a maximum spur length of 32 feet, the campground can accommodate smaller RVs and trailers. Garbage collection is provided during the operating season. The campground is not accessible for those with mobility impairments and has a 16-day stay limit. When closed for the season, walk-in camping is permitted without services or fees.
