About
Pink House Day Use Pavilions are part of the Bureau of Land Management's Pink House Recreation Site, located 5 miles west of Orofino along the Clearwater River. The facility features two reservable riverfront pavilions: a large pavilion covering 6 picnic tables and a small pavilion covering 3 tables. Both pavilions include electricity, lighting, standing BBQ grills, and ADA-accessible picnic tables on concrete pathways.
Nestled beside the Clearwater River at an elevation of 980 feet, the site is surrounded by scenic semi-arid hills and follows the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail. Native trees provide abundant shade, and a large sandy beach is a short walk from the pavilions. Guests have immediate access to the Clearwater River, home to world-renowned salmon and steelhead fisheries that attract anglers from around the world.
The area is popular for boating, fishing, tubing, swimming, wildlife viewing, and quiet relaxation. Pink House is home to one of the most heavily used boat launching sites upstream from Lewiston, Idaho. With over 10 access sites along the Clearwater River, recreationists can enjoy floating as long as they desire. Nearby attractions include Nez Perce National Historical Park (Canoe Camp) 1 mile away, Dworshak Hatchery 9 miles away, and the town of Orofino 5 miles east providing basic services.
