Dent Acres Campground occupies a scenic location on Dworshak Reservoir, one of the largest man-made lakes in the Pacific Northwest at 54 miles long. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this well-developed campground serves as an excellent base for boating, water skiing, fishing, and wildlife watching in the forested mountains of the Clearwater Valley. The campground features 50 sites, including 49 pull-through and one back-in site, all with full hookups: 30/50 amp electric, water, and sewer connections. Each site includes a covered picnic table and fire pit. Centralized amenities include a shower house, flush toilets, fish cleaning station near the boat ramp, trash dumpsters, RV dump station, and a playground. A reservable sun shelter with 75-person capacity is available for groups. Dworshak Reservoir offers outstanding fishing for kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, and smallmouth bass. The nearby Dent Bridge, Idaho's largest cable suspension bridge, spans the reservoir approximately one mile east. Other area attractions include Dworshak Dam and Visitor Center, Dworshak Hatchery, and Nez Perce National Historical Park at Spalding.

Directions

From Highway 12 in Orofino, cross the bridge and turn left onto Highway 7. Travel 200 yards and turn right onto Dent Bridge Road. Travel 19 miles, then at the campground sign turn left. Campground is 2 miles ahead. Note: The road includes 4 miles of steep terrain with horseshoe curves.
