About

Dent Acres Campground occupies a scenic location on Dworshak Reservoir in northern Idaho's Clearwater Valley. The campground is surrounded by steep, forested mountains and abundant wildlife, with the 54-mile-long reservoir offering excellent recreational opportunities. Anglers can pursue kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, and smallmouth bass, while boaters and water skiers enjoy the expansive waters. The facility includes a boat ramp for easy reservoir access. The campground serves as a base for exploring thousands of acres of surrounding public lands in Clearwater National Forest. Multiple hiking trails depart from the area, and hunters have access to extensive backcountry. The site features paved roads and parking spaces with well-maintained grounds. Nearby attractions include Dent Bridge (approximately one mile east), the largest cable suspension bridge in Idaho spanning Dworshak Reservoir. Dworshak Dam and Visitor Center, Dworshak Hatchery, and various Nez Perce historical sites are within reasonable driving distance. The campground is accessed via Dent Bridge Road, approximately 19 miles from Highway 7 at Orofino.

Directions

From Highway 12, cross the bridge at Orofino and turn left onto Highway 7. Travel 200 yards and turn right on Dent Bridge Road and travel 19 miles. At the sign for the campground, turn left. Campground is 2 miles ahead.
