AQAMSO WHAT: Air Quality Advisory because of degraded air quality due to wildfire smoke. Air Quality Index is forecast to be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. WHERE... Clearwater and Idaho Counties outside of reservation boundar WHEN: Extended until 3:00PM 8/12/2026 IMPACTS: Members of sensitive groups may experience health effects. The general public is less likely to be affected. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Air pollutants can cause breathing difficult for children, the elderly, as well as persons with respiratory problems. Those individuals who are sensitive to increased particulate matter or smoke are encouraged to avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity during this advisory. Open burning is prohibited by air quality rule. It is also recommended that all other individuals limit prolonged or strenuous activity outdoors. Partridge Creek Campground is a rustic, no-fee campground situated in the Palouse Corridor of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests, northeast of Elk Creek Reservoir near Elk River, Idaho. The campground offers 13 primitive campsites in a forested setting, providing a quiet base for exploring the surrounding backcountry. The campground is popular with ATV enthusiasts due to its direct access to the 3.5-mile Partridge Creek ATV Trail. It also serves as a convenient stop along the scenic Elk River Backcountry Byway. Facilities are minimal, with vault toilets available but no potable water or trash services. Campers should come prepared to pack out all garbage and bring sufficient drinking water. The campground operates seasonally from May through October, with no reservations accepted. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Directions

From Elk River, ID head northeast on Taft St and turn left on N Front St. Drive 0.2 miles and turn right to continue on Elk Creek Basin Rd/Larch St. In 0.4 miles turn right onto Elk Butte Rd/Larch St and continue to the campground.
