About
Dworshak State Park sprawls across 850 acres along the scenic western shore of Dworshak Reservoir in the Clearwater Valley of north-central Idaho. The park's Freeman Creek unit features 103 campsites distributed across five loops plus a tent camping area. Hookup options include 46 electric/water sites, 11 electric-only sites, and 46 sites with central water access. Two ADA-accessible sites ensure the park is welcoming to all visitors. For those seeking a roof overhead, four camper cabins sleep five people each and come equipped with electricity, heating, air conditioning, and lockable doors and windows. Beyond individual camping, the park accommodates larger gatherings with two standard group campsites (Aspen and Blackberry loops), a large group lodging facility with 100 beds and a full kitchen, a reservable shelter, and an amphitheater. The Three Meadows Group Camp and Big Eddy Lodge and Marina are additional units within the park system. Recreational opportunities abound with a boat ramp and handling dock for easy water access, disc golf course, archery range, playground, and hiking trails through forested terrain and meadows. The reservoir is a prime destination for boating, waterskiing, swimming, and fishing. Wildlife viewing is excellent in the surrounding forests. The park's location offers proximity to Dworshak Dam and National Fish Hatchery, Lewis and Clark interpretive sites, and Clearwater Historical Museum. The varied campsite loops offer different experiences, from the more open Osprey and Kokanee loops to the hillside Camas loop, providing options for different camping preferences and rig sizes.
