The tent-only group site sits at 3,200 feet elevation in a tranquil mixed conifer forest near the Tuolumne River, which flows 150 miles from the central Sierra Nevada to the San Joaquin River. The campground accommodates up to 50 people and is not suitable for RVs or trailers. The site provides access to the Little Golden Forest Trail, a half-mile interpretive loop with an optional two-mile extension. The nearby Tuolumne River offers opportunities for wading and fishing. Winter visitors enjoy proximity to Dodge Ridge, Bear Valley, and Badger Pass ski areas. The campground serves as an ideal base camp for exploring Yosemite's waterfalls and scenery, as well as the Carson-Iceberg, Emigrant, and Mokelumne Wildernesses within Stanislaus National Forest.
