About

The Marzinski Horse Trail and Campground were developed specifically for horse enthusiasts who enjoy riding through a forested quiet trail system. The campground serves as the primary access location for 18 miles of horse trail that winds through mostly flat terrain with mixed pine and hardwood forest, marked with blue diamond-shaped markers on trees and cedar signs. The campground itself is located in a white pine stand and offers quiet and privacy between campsites. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 45 feet. Neither the Marzinski Trailhead nor the Steinberg Trailhead is maintained for horse use in the winter months. The Forest Service and volunteers maintain the trail system and request that riders pack out all trash and avoid accessing the Little Manistee River to prevent erosion. The trail is open to non-motorized use only and while designed primarily for horse riders, hikers are welcome to use the trails as well. The campground provides access to drinking water via a hand pump and vault toilets, making it a convenient base camp for extended trail riding.
