About

Lake George Campground is a small, popular campground nestled at 9,000 feet in the Mammoth Lakes Basin of Inyo National Forest. The 15 campsites are positioned just a short walk from the scenic shore of Lake George, providing easy access to fishing and hiking opportunities including the nearby T.J. Lake trailhead. This is an active bear area, and bear-proof food lockers (48" x 30" x 36") are provided at each site and must be used for all food and scented items. Bear-proof trash receptacles are also available. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with self-registration on site. Sites accommodate tents, small trailers, and RVs up to 15 feet. Facilities include flush toilets and potable water. The campground enforces quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Dogs are permitted but must be kept leashed at all times. Check-in is at 2 p.m. and checkout is at noon.
