About

Falls Creek Campground offers a premier experience along the serene Boulder River in the Custer Gallatin National Forest, providing a tranquil escape with its minimalist and tent-only approach. Located 25 miles south of Big Timber and 5 miles down Main Boulder Road, this 8-site campground is designed for campers seeking an immersive natural environment away from RVs and modern conveniences. The campground sits along the Boulder River, where visitors can enjoy excellent fishing for trout, hiking through the surrounding mountain terrain, and taking in breathtaking scenery. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, and vault toilets are available on-site. Potable water is provided from Memorial Day through Labor Day, though campers should plan to bring their own water outside this window. The location is not suitable for large vehicles or trailers, as there is no turnaround space. Access is limited during fall and winter months due to snow, making this primarily a seasonal destination for tent campers looking to connect deeply with nature in Montana's rugged wilderness.

Directions
