About

Aspen Campground presents a distinctive opportunity to immerse oneself in nature within the Custer Gallatin National Forest's Boulder River drainage. Located 25 miles south of Big Timber and 8.5 miles south on Main Boulder Road, this rustic campground features 8 campsites that offer breathtaking landscapes and excellent fishing opportunities along the Boulder River. The campground provides a back-to-basics experience with limited but essential facilities including vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. Hand-pump drinking water is available from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and forests provide a striking backdrop for visitors seeking a more primitive camping experience. Given its popularity during the summer months and first-come, first-served basis, early arrival is advisable to secure a spot at this coveted nature escape. The access road is not suitable for vehicles longer than 32 feet, making this campground best suited for smaller RVs, truck campers, and tent campers.
