* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible, along with Flash Flooding of recent burn scars. * WHERE...All of South Central and Southeast Montana, and Sheridan County Wyoming. * WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - 1 to 3 inches of additional rainfall is expected across the watch area through Sunday. Locally heavier totals over 4 inches are possible where thunderstorm activity is more persistent. - The Robertson Draw, East Side, Elk, and McGhee-Remington burn scars are particularly vulnerable to Flash Flooding and debris flows during the watch period. Aspen Campground is a small, rustic campground nestled in the Main Boulder area of the Yellowstone Ranger District within Custer Gallatin National Forest. Located along Main Boulder Road, this 8-site campground offers a peaceful setting surrounded by Montana's mountain landscapes and provides convenient access to the Boulder River for fishing. Each campsite features a picnic table and fire ring with grill for cooking. Vault toilets are available on-site, and potable water is accessible from a hand pump from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The campground has a self-service fee station for payment. Bear boxes are provided for food storage. The campground is open year-round, though access becomes limited during fall and winter due to snow accumulation on the access road. The road is not suitable for vehicles longer than 32 feet, making this campground better suited for smaller RVs, trailers, and tent campers. Nearby Natural Bridge State Park and numerous hiking trails make this an ideal base camp for exploring the greater Boulder River watershed.
