About
Pine Creek Campground is nestled along the banks of Pine Creek, about nine miles west of Victor, Idaho, within the Caribou-Targhee National Forest's Teton Basin Ranger District. At 6,700 feet elevation and accessible via Idaho Highway 31 over Pine Creek Pass, the campground sits beneath towering pines and aspens with Pine Creek tumbling through the canyon below. Wildflowers bloom in summer across the forested slopes of the Big Hole Mountains.
The campground offers 10 single-family sites equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings. Gravel roads and parking spurs accommodate RVs and trailers up to 40 feet. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water or trash service, so campers must bring their own water and pack out all garbage. The campground is managed from Trail Creek Campground, where the district host is located.
The Pine Creek Trail begins nearby, attracting hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders into the rugged wilderness. Anglers can fish for brook trout in Pine Creek. The campground's location provides a gateway to iconic landscapes, with Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks within an hour's drive.
