About

Pikes Point State Park is located on West Okoboji Lake in northwest Iowa's popular Great Lakes region. This small, scenic park is primarily a day-use facility featuring one of the area's most popular swimming beaches, complete with a swim platform within the designated swimming area. The park offers a peaceful setting for family picnics with several tables scattered throughout the nicely shaded grounds, all with beautiful views of the lake. The park's centerpiece is a historic stone shelter built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s, which can be reserved for special events and gatherings through the park reservation system. While the park provides excellent lake access for swimming and shore fishing, it does not offer any overnight camping accommodations. The surrounding West Okoboji Lake and Iowa Great Lakes region provide year-round outdoor recreation opportunities including fishing for walleye, northern pike, bass, and panfish, as well as boating activities ranging from canoeing to sailing.
