Elinor Bedell State Park sits on 77 acres along the eastern shore of East Lake Okoboji in Iowa's Great Lakes region. The park was dedicated in 2002 and named for Elinor Bedell, a philanthropist who championed conservation in northwest Iowa. The campground is small but modern, with 8 full-hookup pull-through RV sites that can accommodate rigs up to 70 feet. Each site includes electric (20/30 amp), water, and sewer connections along with a picnic table and fire ring. The park is particularly notable for its accessible infrastructure. Over 7,500 feet of paved trails wind through the property, including a raised boardwalk that traverses restored prairie wetlands. Shelby's Playground provides play equipment designed for children ages 2-5. A reservable shelter with kitchenette and bathrooms is available for gatherings. Beach access on East Lake Okoboji allows swimming and shoreline activities. The campground operates April 1 through October 31 and is 100% reservable through the Iowa DNR reservation system. Peak season rates apply May 1 through October 15. The park's small size and full amenities make it popular with RV campers exploring the Iowa Great Lakes area.
