About
Pickensville Campground is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility located just west of Pickensville, Alabama, on Aliceville Lake along the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. The campground features 176 campsites set among shaded, wooded terrain with views of the waterway where visitors can watch commercial barges navigate the man-made channel that connects the Tennessee River to the Gulf of Mexico. All campsites include picnic tables and campfire rings with grills, with electric and water hookups standard across the facility. Select sites also provide sewer hookups for RV campers. Accessible sites and restrooms are available throughout the campground. The day use area across the waterway from the campground offers an accessible fishing dock, boat ramp with fish cleaning station, swim beach, playground, and covered picnic shelters. The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway extends 234 miles through Alabama and Mississippi, creating diverse habitats for fishing and hunting opportunities. Anglers target bass, walleye, crappie, catfish, and sunfish from the shore or by boat. The surrounding lands provide quality habitat for upland game and waterfowl hunting. Nearby attractions include the Tom Bevill Visitor Center and the U.S. Snagboat Montgomery, a National Historic Landmark. The campground operates year-round with gates open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
