About
Pfeiffer Lake Campground is a peaceful facility adjacent to its 55-acre namesake lake in Minnesota's Superior National Forest. The lake's irregular shoreline makes it ideal for exploring by canoe or kayak, and healthy populations of panfish, bass, perch, and walleye draw anglers to the fishing dock and boat ramp. The campground has 16 sites suitable for tents and moderately-sized RVs. Eight sites are reservable through Recreation.gov and eight are first-come-first-served. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Vault toilets and potable water from a solar-powered well are available during the operating season. A camp host is stationed near the entrance. Day-use amenities include a grassy swim beach with picnic tables and grills, a centrally located playground, and a 3-mile hiking trail through mixed hardwoods and pine. Two dispersed backcountry sites on the lake are accessible only by water and remain open year-round. The lake area serves as nesting habitat for loons and other wildlife.
