The Pembina Gorge State Park Equipment Rental is a day-use kayak rental service, not an overnight camping facility. Situated within Pembina Gorge State Recreation Area in Cavalier County, this rental operation allows visitors to explore the Pembina River, which winds through North Dakota's deepest and most dramatic gorge. Kayak rentals are available seasonally, with peak conditions typically in May and June when river levels are optimal. Rentals cost $32 for a half-day or $50 for a full day, with paddles and life jackets included. Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance, and rentals are available Thursday through Sunday with pickup between 11 a.m. and noon. Note that this listing represents the equipment rental service only. The actual Pembina Gorge State Park campground is a separate facility that opened in June 2026 as North Dakota's 14th state park.

Located approximately 8 miles northwest of Walhalla, North Dakota. From Walhalla, travel 1 mile north, 1 mile west, and 0.25 mile north of the Walhalla Country Club to reach the trailhead area.
