About

Pelican Lake Campground sits at 4,800 feet elevation in northeastern Utah's Uinta Basin, managed by the BLM Vernal Field Office. The campground provides 13 sites total: 11 individual campsites at $10 per night and 2 group sites at $35 per night. All sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis with same-day payment required via the Recreation.gov Scan & Pay app or the on-site Iron Ranger (cash or check). Pelican Lake has been a nationally-renowned bluegill fishery since the 1970s and remains popular for largemouth bass fishing as well. Birdwatching is excellent in spring when waterfowl arrive to nest and rear their young. The nearby Ouray National Wildlife Refuge along the Green River offers additional wildlife viewing opportunities. The campground features vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. Three campsites are designed with raised tent pads and parking areas wide enough to accommodate side-lift van-type vehicles for accessibility, though vault toilets have a 3-inch lip that may present challenges. No potable water is available on-site; campers must bring their own supply.
