About
Peck Gulch Campground is a scenic lakeside destination on Lake Koocanusa, a 90-mile reservoir formed by the Libby Dam on the Kootenai River. Located 21 miles southwest of Eureka off Highway 37, the campground provides easy access to one of Montana's premier boating and fishing destinations. The reservoir stretches north into British Columbia, offering excellent kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, and burbot fishing. The campground features 22 campsites including one host site, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Some sites include tent pads. The facility can accommodate RVs up to 32 feet, though the steep, narrow paved access road may require caution for larger vehicles. Amenities include potable water from a hand pump, vault toilets, and a fully developed boat launch with dock for motorized and non-motorized boating. Situated at 2,713 feet elevation, the campground offers a blend of forest camping and lake recreation. Beyond boating and fishing, visitors can explore scenic drives through the surrounding Kootenai National Forest or simply enjoy the mountain views across the reservoir.
Directions
From Eureka, follow Highway 37 south for 19 miles to the campground entrance. A narrow, steep, paved access road leads to the site. Pilot vehicles recommended for over-length units and buses.
