About
Camp 32 is a primitive, no-fee campground situated at 2,755 feet elevation in Kootenai National Forest, approximately 15 miles southwest of Eureka, Montana. The campground provides 8 sites equipped with picnic tables and fire rings, vault toilets, and potable water available from a hand pump. A large open field adds to the camping area. Sites can accommodate RVs up to 20 feet in length. The campground occupies the historic site of a 1924 logging camp established by the Bonners Ferry Lumber Company on land acquired from early homesteader Margaret Durall. The original camp operated for approximately two years and included outbuildings, a company store, and several small cabins. River and stream fishing opportunities are available in the area. Camp 32 operates on a first-come-first-served basis with no reservations required. The campground is a pack-in/pack-out facility, so visitors must take all trash with them. A 14-day stay limit applies. Dump facilities, laundry, gas, ice, and stores are available in Trout Creek, with additional dump facilities at Rexford Bench Campground.
Directions
From Eureka, follow Highway 37 southwest for approximately 12 miles. Turn left onto Forest Road 7182 and follow for approximately 2.5 miles to the campground entrance.
