About

Rocky Gorge Campground is a developed Forest Service campground on Lake Koocanusa in northwest Montana's Kootenai National Forest. Located 26 miles southwest of Eureka via Highway 37, the campground provides direct access to one of the region's premier reservoirs, known for its Kokanee salmon, Kamloops rainbow trout, bull trout, westslope cutthroat, and burbot populations. The campground features 60 sites including a camp host site. Each site has a table and fire ring, with some sites also having tent pads. RVs up to 32 feet can be accommodated. Facilities include potable water from a hand pump, vault toilets, a dock, and a fully developed boat launch. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with reservations available through Recreation.gov. While the campground is accessible year-round depending on weather conditions, it is actively managed with full services from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The fee is $16 per night, with a 50% discount available for holders of Interagency Senior or Access passes. A 16-day stay limit applies on all National Forest System lands. Pets are welcome but must be kept leashed.
