About
Paul B. Johnson State Park campground occupies a scenic stretch of shoreline along 225-acre Geiger Lake, roughly 12 miles south of Hattiesburg in Mississippi's pine forest region. The park underwent extensive renovations and reopened with 129 updated RV campsites, all featuring full hookups with water, electric service (20/30/50 amp), and sewer connections. Each RV site includes a picnic table and grill. The northern section contains 21 pull-through sites that can accommodate very large rigs. The primitive camping area provides 25 sites set in a secluded, wooded setting behind the northern developed campground. These sites have no amenities and are intended for tent campers seeking a more rustic experience. Three modern bathhouses with flush toilets and hot showers serve the campground. An RV dump station is located off the main park drive. Beyond camping, the park offers fishing and boat access on Geiger Lake, swimming beaches, a splash pad, disc golf, nature trails, and playgrounds. Twelve cabins and two duplexes provide lakefront lodging alternatives.
