Located 12 miles south of Hattiesburg in Mississippi's pine belt region, Paul B. Johnson State Park Campground offers a scenic setting along 225-acre Geiger Lake. The campground is nestled among majestic longleaf and loblolly pines, dogwoods, and ancient oaks, providing a natural wonderland for outdoor recreation. The developed campground features 125 RV sites with water, sewer, and electric hookups, paved roads, and paved pads. Many sites offer lakefront camping with views of Geiger Lake. Three bathhouses with hot showers and flush toilets serve the camping area, along with coin-operated laundry facilities. For those seeking a more rustic experience, 25 primitive tent sites are available in a secluded wooded area. All developed sites include picnic tables and grills. Geiger Lake offers excellent fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, bream, crappie, and catfish. The park features a boat launch, dock, and paved trailer parking. A designated swimming area with a private beach serves the campground. Other amenities include two 18-basket disc golf courses, nature trails, a splash pad, playgrounds, and picnic pavilions. The park also offers cabins, cottages, and a group camp facility for larger gatherings.
