About

Davis Bayou Campground sits within Gulf Islands National Seashore, three miles east of downtown Ocean Springs, Mississippi. This year-round campground offers 52 individual sites with water and electric hookups, plus a group camping area. The majority of sites accommodate RVs 40+ feet in length, with all sites permitting either two tents or one RV and one tent. The campground is nestled among live oaks and pine trees adjacent to a saltwater marsh, providing shade and excellent opportunities for migratory bird watching. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings. Modern amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, and a dump station. The campground is gated and closes at sunset, with registered campers receiving gate codes. Recreational opportunities abound with the Davis Bayou Trail starting just half a mile from the campground, winding through coastal forest and over two local bayous where visitors can observe alligators and other reptiles. A boat launch provides access to fishing and boating on Davis Bayou, with a fishing pier available near the Visitor Center. The campground serves as a gateway to the park's barrier islands including Horn, Petit Bois, East Ship, and West Ship islands, accessible by private boat or charter.
