About

Buccaneer State Park sits on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Waveland, offering a mix of full-service RV camping and primitive tent sites. The 206 premium sites span several loops including Treasure Cove with 45 sites featuring water, 30/50 amp electric, sewer hookups, picnic tables, BBQ grills, and fire pits. The newer Gulf View section provides 44 concrete pads with full hookups and coastal views. An additional 70 sites overlook the Gulf with water and electric only, served by a nearby dump station. For tent campers seeking solitude, 25 primitive sites are tucked into the woods near Grand Bayou via a shell road. These first-come, first-served sites have no services but restrooms are within 100 yards. Two modern ADA-accessible bathhouses with hot showers serve the campground, and a 24-hour coin-operated laundry is available in the activities building. Beyond camping, the park is home to Buccaneer Bay Water Park featuring a 460,000-gallon wave pool, waterslides, and a lazy river operating Memorial Day through early September. The grounds include disc golf, nature trails, playgrounds, and direct beach access. Pets are welcome on leashes up to six feet but are prohibited from the beach, water park, and buildings.
