The site is located on Boat Launch Road adjacent to pavilion #5, where campers have access to restroom facilities. The campground's location provides excellent access to the park's trail system and a small boat launch, making it ideal for groups interested in exploring the coastal bayou ecosystem. The area is within short walking distance to the Gulf of Mexico and offers opportunities for wildlife observation and nature study. Parking is limited, so carpooling is recommended for larger groups. This group camping area operates year-round and requires reservations made through Recreation.gov up to 12 months in advance. The gated campground closes at sunset, and registered campers receive a gate code for after-hours access. The facility maintains a quiet atmosphere with a strict no-generator policy at all times.
