About

Parker Dam State Park encompasses 968 acres in northwestern Pennsylvania's Clearfield County, offering a blend of developed amenities and wilderness access. The park centers around a scenic 20-acre lake surrounded by dense forest within Moshannon State Forest. The campground features 107 sites including full-hookup, electric, non-electric, and tent-only sites, along with 17 rustic cabins available year-round. Modern facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station. The park serves as a gateway to extensive forest lands and the 50,000-acre Quehanna Wilderness. Visitors can explore tornado-ravaged forest recovery areas, mountain bike on forest trails, or search for Pennsylvania elk in nearby areas. The lake allows non-powered and electric boats with proper registration. A sand beach operates Memorial Day through September. Winter activities include cross-country skiing, ice skating, sledding, and snowmobiling. Developed amenities include a playground, coin laundry, camp store, and seasonal food concession at the beach. The park offers interpretive programs and serves as a base for geocaching enthusiasts. Stay limits are 14 days during peak season and 21 days off-season, with a 48-hour vacancy required between stays.
