About
East Branch Campground is located at East Branch Lake in northeastern Elk County, Pennsylvania, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District. The campground features 31 sites: 23 RV sites (21 with 30-amp electric hookups, 2 non-electric), 4 electric cabins with bedding provided, and 3 tent-only sites. All campsites and cabins include fire rings, picnic tables, and lantern hangers. The single camping loop has a restroom facility with flush toilets and showers. East Branch Lake is renowned for its exceptional water clarity, with visibility up to 12 feet. The fishery supports smallmouth and largemouth bass, lake trout, musky, walleye, and various panfish. The outflow area below the dam maintains year-round cool to cold water temperatures and is managed as a delayed harvest trout fishing area, making it a popular destination for anglers as well as kayakers and canoers. Nearby attractions include Elk State Park, Bendigo State Park, and the Allegheny National Forest. The cities of St. Marys and Kane offer restaurants, microbreweries, wineries, and shopping. An overlook and picnic area located across from the campground provides a tranquil spot to enjoy lake views.
