About

Clarion River Campsites offer 27 primitive, numbered camping spots along the Clarion Wild and Scenic River corridor in Pennsylvania's Allegheny National Forest. Eighteen sites line the Clarion River itself (numbered C1 to C17) while nine additional sites follow Millstone Creek (M1 to M9). Access is via River Road and Forest Road 132. Each campsite includes a hardened parking area and rock fire ring. Vault toilets and information signs are located at three canoe launch points: Irwin Run, Robin Island, and Millstone Creek. Note that potable water is not available, and picnic tables are not provided. Campers must pack out all trash. The area is popular for non-motorized boating, fishing, and hiking along the scenic river corridor. Pets are permitted on leashes no longer than 6 feet. Dispersed camping in this zone is restricted to the numbered sites only. Campers may stay up to 14 days within any 30-day period, with a maximum of 8 people per site.

Directions

From Marienville: Turn onto South Forest Street (SR 3002) and follow approximately 6 miles to Loleta Recreation Area. Cross Millstone Creek and turn right onto Millstone Road (FR 132). Millstone campsites M9 to M1 are on the right after the pipeline. At the intersection with River Road, continue straight for Clarion River campsites C1 to C17. From Cook Forest: Turn east onto River Road from SR 36, cross SR 899 at Clarington, continue to the stop sign at Millstone Road (FR 132).
