Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong winds will also be accompanied by lake effect snow showers, which will reduce visibility and make roads slick.
About
Located in the scenic Pennsylvania Wilds region, Sinnemahoning State Park Campground offers 35 shaded campsites under tall evergreen trees. The campground sits one mile south of the Park Office and Wildlife Center along PA 872, surrounded by the expansive Elk State Forest. Sites accommodate everything from tents to large recreational vehicles and motor homes, with electric hookups available. The campground features modern amenities including a restroom facility with flush toilets and hot showers, a sanitary dump station, and ADA-accessible sites and facilities. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, lantern hook, and campfire ring. A centrally-located amphitheater hosts interpretive programs throughout the summer season. Pets are permitted on designated campsites. The park is situated in the beautiful valley of the First Fork Sinnemahoning Creek and encompasses 1,910 acres of mountainous terrain. The area is renowned for elk viewing opportunities, particularly at dawn and dusk. Campers can enjoy year-round activities including hiking, fishing, wildlife watching, boating, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The park also features a modern four-bedroom cabin that sleeps 12 people. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance through the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system.
Directions
Sinnemahoning State Park is located on PA 872 in Cameron and Potter counties in northcentral Pennsylvania. The park is 13 miles north of the intersection of PA 120 and PA 872 (outside of the village of Sinnemahoning) or 15 miles south of Austin. The park office and wildlife center is 0.5 mile south of the northern intersection of PA 872 and Park Road. The northern entrance of the park is about 3 miles north on PA 872.
