About

Located along the Wabash River near Bluffton in Wells County, Ouabache State Park provides a well-developed camping experience in northeast Indiana. The campground features 122 electric sites with 50-amp hookups, accommodating RVs up to 45 feet. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with select pull-through driveways available. Modern comfort stations offer flush toilets and showers, and a dump station serves RV campers. The park's signature attraction is a 20-acre enclosed exhibit housing a herd of American bison in a natural prairie setting. Kunkel Lake anchors the recreation offerings with a swimming beach (with mobility mats for accessibility), fishing pier, and rentals including canoes, jonboats, and pedal boats. Five hiking trails ranging from 1 to 6 miles wind through the property, and a paved bicycle trail connects the park to downtown Bluffton. Additional amenities include tennis and basketball courts, volleyball, playgrounds, picnic shelters, a fire observation tower, and seasonal concessions selling firewood, bait, ice, and snacks. The park also offers youth tent camping areas and reservable shelters for groups.
