About
Lake Loramie State Park Campground is located on the shores of Lake Loramie, a reservoir originally constructed as a feeder lake for the Miami-Erie Canal in the 1840s. The campground offers a variety of site types including full-hookup sites with water, sewer, and electric; electric-only sites; and non-electric tent sites. ADA-compliant cedar cabins provide an alternative for those seeking a roofed accommodation. The park offers extensive recreational opportunities throughout the year. Summer visitors enjoy the swimming beach, boating, and fishing on the 845-acre lake. Over 8 miles of hiking trails wind through the park, with portions following the historic canal towpath as part of both the Buckeye Trail and the North Country National Scenic Trail. An 18-hole disc golf course provides additional recreation. Winter activities include ice fishing, sledding, and snowmobiling when conditions permit. The on-site camp store is open to the public and offers bike rentals along with loans of games, fishing equipment, and sporting gear. All reservations are made through reserveohio.com or by calling the state parks reservation line.
