Oleta River State Park, Florida's largest urban park, sits on 1,043 acres along Biscayne Bay in North Miami Beach, just 30 minutes from downtown Miami. The park offers 14 primitive air-conditioned cabins, most equipped with a double bed and bunk bed. Cabins feature covered porches with picnic tables but lack kitchens and bathrooms. A nearby bathhouse provides hot showers and restroom facilities. Cabin 1 is ADA accessible. The park also operates a youth campground for organized groups ages 18 and under. Three primitive campsites can each accommodate 30 campers and include two picnic tables, a fire circle, restroom, and cold-water shower. Reservations are made through the Florida State Parks reservation system. Beyond camping, the park is renowned for its extensive mountain biking trails, kayaking on the Oleta River, swimming at the bay beach, and mangrove exploration. The park frequently reaches capacity on weekends, and visitors should expect long wait times at the entrance on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
