Open

Open for camping. The campground operates from early April through late October. All sites require advance reservations through the Minnesota State Parks reservation system.

About

Ogechie Campground offers a rustic camping experience within Mille Lacs Kathio State Park, a National Historic Landmark preserving over 9,000 years of human history. The 26 heavily wooded sites provide excellent shade and privacy, situated on the shore of Ogechie Lake. Fishing is readily available from the campground, and the park's extensive trail system leads to archaeological sites including a historic native village. Facilities are intentionally rustic: each site features a tent or RV pad, fire ring with grill, and picnic table. Two vault toilets and a drinking water faucet serve the campground. Showers are located 1.5 miles away at the Petaga Campground. A dump station is available during warm months and serves both campgrounds. The campground operates from early April through late October. All sites require reservations, which can be made online or by phone up to 120 days in advance. The park is popular, so reservations fill quickly, especially on weekends.

Directions

From Onamia, MN, take US-169 N for approximately 8 miles. Turn left onto Kathio State Park Road and continue for about 2 miles to reach the park entrance. Follow signs within the park to Ogechie Campground.
