Father Hennepin State Park Track Chair

Closed

This is not a campground. It is the track chair accessibility equipment program at Father Hennepin State Park. Track chairs are available year-round and can be reserved online or by calling the park. For actual camping, reserve a site at Father Hennepin State Park Campground separately.

About

Father Hennepin State Park offers an all-terrain track chair program as part of the Minnesota DNR's commitment to accessible outdoor recreation. Track chairs are electric-powered wheelchairs designed to navigate terrain that standard wheelchairs cannot handle, including park trails and natural surfaces. The chairs feature adaptable controls for left-hand, right-hand, or attendant operation, and transfer boards are provided at the park. There is no charge to use the track chair, though a state park vehicle permit is required for entry. Discounted permits are available for visitors with disability hang tags. Reservations can be made through the Minnesota DNR reservation system or by contacting the park directly. A waiver must be signed upon checkout. This is an accessibility equipment program, not a campsite. For overnight camping at Father Hennepin State Park, visitors should reserve one of the park's 103 drive-in campsites through the separate campground reservation system.
