About
Lakeshore East Campground occupies a scenic position along the Sacramento Arm of Shasta Lake, offering campers easy access to one of California's most popular recreation lakes. The campground is easily accessible from I-5, located about 1.3 miles west of the Antlers Road/Lakeshore Drive exit within the community of Lakehead. Oak and pine trees provide partial shade, while grass and raspberry bushes create natural privacy screens between sites. Each campsite features a paved parking spur, picnic table, and raised fire ring. The campground offers 18 single sites accommodating up to 8 people, 6 double sites for up to 16 people, and 2 yurts that are available year-round. Yurts are sturdy, weather-proof shelters with basic furnishings but no heat or electricity. Flush toilets are provided throughout the campground, with some meeting current accessibility standards. The location is ideal for water recreation. Several sites offer direct lake access, and visitors may informally moor boats at the campground. The Antlers public boat ramp is approximately 2 miles away. Popular activities include power boating, waterskiing, and fishing for trout, catfish, Chinook salmon, crappie, bluegill, bass, and white sturgeon.
Directions
From I-5, take exit 702 (Antlers Road/Lakeshore Drive). Turn left at the end of the off-ramp, then left at the stop sign junction. Follow Lakeshore Drive about 1.3 miles to the Lakeshore East Campground sign and turn left onto the campground road.
