Shasta Lake Antlers Campground

Antlers Campground is situated on the upper Sacramento arm of Shasta Lake, perched on a flat, level bluff above the water. The grounds are heavily forested with pine, oak, and manzanita that provide shade and privacy between sites. Each of the 59 campsites includes a paved parking spur, picnic table, fire ring with grill, and bear-resistant food storage locker. The campground accommodates both tents and RVs up to 40 feet, though there are no hookups. While the campground itself doesn't provide direct lake access due to the steep terrain, Antlers Public Boat Launch is immediately adjacent, making this an excellent base for boaters and anglers. Shasta Lake offers exceptional fishing for rainbow and brown trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass, Chinook salmon, and numerous other species. Located in the town of Lakehead with restaurants and shopping nearby, and just minutes from Lake Shasta Caverns tours. Interpretive programs are hosted at the nearby amphitheater on summer weekends. Be aware of poison oak throughout the campground and that trains pass frequently on the nearby I-5 corridor.

Directions

From I-5, take exit 702 (Antlers Road/Lakeshore Drive) in Lakehead. Turn right at end of off-ramp, then right at the stop sign by the Shell station onto Antlers Road. Continue 0.8 mile to the campground entrance on the right.
