About

North Summit Horse Camp is a specialized equestrian facility nestled in the forest near Loup Loup Pass in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Developed through collaboration between the Methow Valley Back Country Horsemen and the Forest Service, this campground serves riders exploring the scenic trails of the Loup Loup area. The campground features 12 campsites designed exclusively for parties traveling with stock animals. While water is available seasonally for horses and pack animals, visitors must bring their own potable drinking water. Vault toilets and picnic areas provide basic amenities. The facility operates on a pack-in, pack-out basis with no garbage service provided. Located just 0.10 miles from State Route 20 on Forest Road 4200, the campground provides convenient access to multiple trail systems suitable for both experienced and novice equestrians. The Forest Service requires that all livestock use certified weed-seed-free feed. Sites are first-come, first-served with an overnight fee of $10 per night, payable by cash or check.
