Despite the closure to camping, the site maintains potable water available from faucets supplied by an artesian well. The location offers access to the surrounding national forest and is positioned along Forest Service Road 38, which extends north from County Road 2361 at the forest boundary. While the site once served as a small campground with a few sites featuring picnic tables and fire rings, current Forest Service management has transitioned it to day-use status.
