North Fork Black Creek Camp Zone is located within Jennings State Forest in Clay County, approximately 30 minutes northwest of Middleburg, Florida. This primitive hike-in camp zone requires a 2.5-mile one-way trek along the southern end of the North Fork Black Creek Hiking Trail, starting from the Old Jennings Trailhead where parking is available for a day-use fee. The camp zone features one picnic table, one fire ring, and an open area capable of holding up to 9 tents. No electricity or potable water is available on-site, so campers must pack in all necessary supplies. Jennings State Forest encompasses over 25,000 acres of woodlands, rivers, and creeks, with several ravines along seepage streams leading to North Fork Black Creek. Recreational opportunities include hiking, fishing, hunting during scheduled seasons, horseback riding, birding, wildlife viewing, and photography. The forest is part of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. The forest is open for day-use visitors from 1.5 hours before sunrise until 1.5 hours after sunset. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited throughout the forest.

Directions

From Jacksonville, take I-10 west to exit 350 (SR 23/Cecil Commerce Center). Follow SR 23 south for 14 miles. Turn right onto Old Jennings Road heading west for 3 miles. Turn right onto Live Oak Lane heading north for 0.5 mile. The Old Jennings Recreation Area/Trailhead will be on your left. From the trailhead, hike 2.5 miles one-way on the southern end of the North Fork Black Creek Hiking Trail to reach the camp zone.
