About

Cary Group Camp is a dedicated group camping area nestled within Cary State Forest, Florida's second oldest state forest established in 1937. Located approximately 5 minutes northeast of Bryceville in Nassau County, this tent-only facility can accommodate groups of up to 50 people. The campground provides essential amenities including flush restrooms with showers, potable water, fire rings, and picnic tables, along with a recreation pavilion for group gatherings. The surrounding 13,385-acre forest offers extensive recreational opportunities including hiking trails, equestrian trails, wildlife viewing, birding, and nature photography. A nature trail and boardwalk winds through the flatwoods and cypress swamp ecosystem. The forest operates under day-use hours of 1.5 hours before sunrise to 1.5 hours after sunset, though overnight camping is permitted for registered guests. This is strictly a tent camping area; RVs and campers are prohibited. Leashed pets are welcome, but alcoholic beverages are not permitted. During hunting seasons, visitors are advised to wear Day-Glo orange for safety.
