About
Bootleggers Campground is a primitive drive-up camping facility located within Jennings State Forest in Clay County, Florida. The campground features eight tent-only sites, each equipped with a fire ring, grill, and 16-foot by 16-foot tent pad. A vault toilet system serves all campers, located near the communal area which also includes a 4-table pavilion for group gatherings. Jennings State Forest offers diverse recreational opportunities including hiking trails of varying difficulty, mountain biking, horseback riding, canoeing along Black Creek tributaries, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The forest is open for day use from 1.5 hours before sunrise until 1.5 hours after sunset. Visitors should be aware that hunting occurs during scheduled seasons, and trail users are advised to wear blaze orange during these periods. Reservations are available through ReserveAmerica up to 11 months in advance. The campground operates year-round with no electrical hookups. Alcohol is prohibited, and pets must be leashed at all times. Nearby attractions include Camp Blanding Museum and Memorial Park, and several local historical museums in Middleburg and Bradford County.

From Jacksonville take I-10 west to exit 343, US Highway 301 south for 4 miles. Turn left onto Normandy Boulevard heading east for 1 mile. Turn right onto County Road 217 heading south for 1 mile. Turn left onto Long Branch Road heading east for 6 miles. Bear left at Nolan Ridge Baptist Church and follow to Bootleggers Campground entrance sign. Turn right into campground.
