About

North Clear Creek Campground is a secluded retreat in the Rio Grande National Forest, completely hidden from Forest Road 510 at 9,900 feet elevation. The 21 sites are scattered among small openings and shaded areas of aspen, spruce, and fir. Each site includes a parking spur (maximum 40 feet, though not all sites accommodate this length), picnic table, and fire ring. Two vault toilets serve the campground, and potable water is available from a hand pump well. The campground sits adjacent to North Clear Creek, providing excellent stream fishing opportunities. Wildlife viewing is a highlight, with moose sightings possible in the area. Fall visitors can photograph striking aspen colors throughout the surrounding landscape. A campground host is stationed on-site during the operating season. This is a primitive camping experience with no hookups, showers, or dump station. Trash service is provided Memorial Day through Labor Day via centrally located cans. Bear-country food storage requirements apply. The 14-day camping limit keeps sites turning over for those seeking extended solitude in the high country.
