About

Marshall Park Campground is situated in an open meadow along the Rio Grande River, about 7 miles west of Creede, Colorado. At 8,800 feet elevation, the campground offers views of Bristol Head Peak and the La Garita Mountains. The 16-site loop includes 7 paved pull-through sites and 9 gravel dead-end spurs, accommodating trailers up to 40 feet. The campground is lightly treed with minimal screening from Highway 149, which runs adjacent to the site. Morning temperatures are cool as sun reaches most sites in late morning, with limited afternoon shade. The Rio Grande River is considered a trophy trout fishery and provides wading and fishing access. Off-road vehicle trails like Lost Trail #821 are nearby. Facilities include an ADA-accessible vault toilet with night light, fire rings and picnic tables at each site, and centralized trash collection available Memorial Day through Labor Day. There is no potable water; campers must bring their own supply. A sink water disposal facility is available. Firewood may be purchased from the campground host stationed at site 16.
