About
Noisy Creek Campground is situated at the south end of Sullivan Lake in the Colville National Forest, approximately 90 miles north of Spokane and 20 miles from the US-Canada border. The campground features private, well-spaced campsites set back from the 1,291-acre lake, suitable for both tent and RV camping. Hall Mountain rises dramatically from the eastern shore to over 6,000 feet, creating a stunning backdrop. The campground serves as a trailhead for two major hiking routes. The Lakeshore Trail, a designated National Scenic Trail, runs 4.2 miles along the eastern shore with viewpoints of the lake, making it a popular day-hike for all ages. The Noisy Creek Trail follows the creek for two miles before climbing sharply to the summit of Hall Mountain. Sullivan Lake provides excellent fishing for Kokanee salmon and burbot, with most success from boats. Swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding are popular activities. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with individual bighorn sheep from the Hall Mountain herd occasionally passing through the campground. Black bears, cougars, and bobcats inhabit the area, along with diverse bird species. The surrounding forest features abundant western larch, aspen, and cottonwood trees that create vibrant fall colors. Nearby attractions include the historic town of Metaline Falls, Crawford State Park with Gardiner Cave tours, and Seattle City Light's Boundary Hydroelectric Project near the international border.
Directions
From the junction of State Highway 20, follow State Highway 31 north for 3 miles to the junction of Sullivan Lake Road (County Road 9345). Follow Sullivan Lake Road for 8.2 miles to the campground entrance at the south end of Sullivan Lake.
