About

Crescent Lake Campground sits in a shaded grove of cedar trees above a stunning 21.6-acre emerald-green lake in the remote northeastern corner of Washington state. Just one mile south of the Canadian border and nine miles north of Metaline Falls along the North Pend Oreille Scenic Byway, this rustic three-site campground offers a quiet escape for tent campers and those with small RVs. The campground provides basic amenities including picnic tables and fire rings at each site, a vault toilet, and bear-proof garbage receptacles. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own or filter water from the lake. Due to limited parking, the campground is best suited for small RVs or tent camping. Crescent Lake offers excellent fishing with annual plantings of rainbow and cutthroat trout. The fishing season runs from the last Saturday in April through October 31; a Washington state fishing license is required. Non-motorized boats are permitted, and a boat launch provides easy lake access. Food and wildlife attractants must be properly stored in this bear country.

Directions

From the junction of State Highway 20, follow State Highway 31 north for 25.7 miles through the towns of Ione, Metaline, and Metaline Falls. Turn west onto Vista House Road (Forest Road 3165000) and drive 0.25 mile uphill to the campground entrance.
