Closed — Closed for the season. The campground operates Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The boat launch remains open year-round.
Alcohol Prohibitions
This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.
Aquatic Invasive Species
This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.
Restrictions on Use of Forage and Mulch Products
This Order prohibits unloading, storing, or using any straw, hay, grain, seed, or other forage or mulch products that are not state-certified weed free on the National Forest System lands, roads or trails in any Closure Area as specific in the Order.
Occupancy and Use / Camping Restrictions Order
Camping is prohibited for more than 14 consecutive days in one location and more than 28 calendar days annually within the Colville National Forest.
Food Storage Order
The goal of this special order is to minimize the potential for bears and other wildlife to access human foods. Animals that have repeatedly obtained unsecured human foods can learn to associate the presence of humans with a food reward and begin to lose their natural fear of man.
Aquatic Invasive Species Order
This order prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species on the national Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region.
About
Lake Leo Campground is located on the north shore of Lake Leo within Colville National Forest's Three Rivers Ranger District. This intimate 8-site campground sits along a small but popular fishing lake that's part of the Little Pend Oreille chain of lakes system. The campground features paved interior roads and a convenient 5-space boat launch for anglers and paddlers. Campsites vary in character, with some offering more privacy and lake views while others are positioned closer together. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. The campground provides vault toilets and drinking water from faucets. Located about 29 miles east of Colville via WA-20, Lake Leo is situated five miles north of Lake Gillette and the surrounding Gillette and Lake Thomas campgrounds. The setting is characterized by low wooded hills, creating a quiet atmosphere for camping, fishing, swimming, and canoeing. A Washington state fishing license is required. The campground is operated by a concessionaire and enforces quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., with a maximum stay of 14 days.
Directions
From Colville, head north on N Maple St toward E 2nd Ave for 0.1 miles. Turn right at the 2nd cross street onto WA-20 E/E 3rd Ave. Continue to follow WA-20 E for 28.8 miles to reach the campground.
