Alcohol Prohibitions

This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.

Aquatic Invasive Species

This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.

Restrictions on Use of Forage and Mulch Products

This Order prohibits unloading, storing, or using any straw, hay, grain, seed, or other forage or mulch products that are not state-certified weed free on the National Forest System lands, roads or trails in any Closure Area as specific in the Order.

Food Storage Order: 06-21-00-21-02

The goal of this special order is to minimize the potential for bears and other wildlife to access human foods. Animals that have repeatedly obtained unsecured human foods can learn to associate the presence of humans with a food reward and begin to lose their natural fear of man.

Aquatic Invasive Species Order: 06-00-00-21-01

This order prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species on the national Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region.

Mill Pond Campground is situated along Sullivan Creek in the Colville National Forest, approximately 14 miles north of Metaline Falls. The campground serves as a hub for outdoor recreation, with direct access to an extensive looped trail system that connects to the Mill Pond Historic Site. Sullivan Creek Trail #565 links the campground with Mill Pond Flume Trail #520, Floodplain Trail #523, and Elk Creek Trail #560, offering excellent hiking opportunities through the forest. The campground is located near Mill Pond, a 63-acre lake that permits non-motorized and electric boats, provided they can be carried approximately 50 feet from the parking area to the water. Sullivan Creek also provides fishing opportunities for those with a valid Washington state fishing license. The campground is operated by Scenic Canyons Recreational Services under a special use permit with the U.S. Forest Service. Mill Pond Campground features vault toilets, drinking water from a hand pump, animal-resistant garbage containers, and food storage boxes. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring. The campground enforces quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., prohibits fireworks, and requires pets to be leashed. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive days.

From Metaline Falls, head northeast on Grandview St toward International Selkirk Loop N/Lehigh Ave. Turn right onto WA-31 N/International Selkirk Loop N/Lehigh Ave for 2.1 miles. Turn right onto Sullivan Lake Rd for 3.9 miles.
