About
Nice Campground sits along Eightmile Creek in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, approximately 11 miles from Winthrop via West Chewuch Road and paved Eight Mile Road. This peaceful campground serves as a good location for small groups to camp and access trails or enjoy scenic drives and walks on quiet forest roads. The campground was heavily impacted by the 2021 Cub Creek fire and has transformed into an open sunny camp where many shrubs and grasses are re-growing. At an elevation of 2,700 feet, the site maintains easy access for trailers along the paved Forest Service Road 5130. Visitors should be prepared to pack out all trash as no receptacles are provided. The campground offers vault toilets and picnic tables but no potable water. Payment is accepted via cash, check, or the Scan & Pay mobile system. The area provides opportunities for day hiking and exploring the surrounding national forest.
Directions
From Winthrop, travel 8 miles north on West Chewuch Road (county road 1213) to Eight Mile Road (forest service road 5130). On paved Eight Mile Road #5130 drive 3 miles northwest along Eightmile Creek to Nice Campground on the left.
