Flat Campground
The campground typically operates seasonally from late May through early fall, weather permitting. It is first-come, first-served only. Payment is $15 per night for a single site plus $5 for each additional vehicle (2 vehicle limit). Cash, check, or Recreation.gov Scan & Pay accepted.

Particulate matter (PM2.5) levels are expected to range in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups and Unhealthy categories. In Eastern Okanogan County near active wildfires, air quality may reach Very Unhealthy to Hazardous levels. When air quality is Unhealthy, everyone should reduce exposure. Limit time outside, avoid strenuous activity, and follow tips for cleaner indoor air.

Flat Campground sits in a forested setting along Eightmile Creek within the Methow Valley Ranger District of Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. At 2,600 feet elevation, the campground offers a peaceful retreat with light usage levels, making it a good option for those seeking solitude. The entirely paved access via Forest Road 5130 makes arrival straightforward even for trailers. The campground provides basic amenities including vault toilets and picnic tables at each site. There is no potable water on-site; campers should bring their own or filter water from Eightmile Creek. Trash service is not provided, so pack out what you pack in. Each site accommodates either 2 tents or 1 tent and 1 RV, with a maximum of 2 vehicles per site. The surrounding area offers fishing in Eightmile Creek (Washington State regulations apply) and day hiking opportunities. The 14-day maximum stay limit applies. Flat Campground is first-come, first-served only and cannot be reserved in advance.
Directions
From Winthrop, travel 9 miles north on West Chewuch Road (County Road 1213) to Eight Mile Road (Forest Road 5130). Turn left and drive 2 miles northwest along Eightmile Creek on the paved road. Flat Campground is on the left.
