About

Buck Lake Campground is a small, quiet forested campground offering scenic views of Buck Lake in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Located at approximately 3,300 feet elevation in the Methow Valley Ranger District, the campground provides a peaceful retreat for campers seeking solitude and lake access near Winthrop, Washington. The campground features a small gravel boat launch adequate for small watercraft such as canoes, kayaks, and small fishing boats. Fishing on Buck Lake is particularly rewarding early in the season, as the lake is stocked. Mountain biking opportunities are also available in the surrounding area. Sites accommodate trailers up to 25 feet in length. This is a primitive campground with vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own drinking water. There are no trash receptacles; pack-it-in, pack-it-out policies apply. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with on-site payment via Recreation.gov's Scan & Pay system. Campers with limited cell service can download the Recreation.gov app in advance for payment.
