About
Buck Lake Campground is a small, quiet forested campground nestled in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest at 3,300 feet elevation. The campground offers scenic views of Buck Lake and features a gravel boat launch adequate for small crafts, making it ideal for non-motorized boating and float tubes. The lake is stocked and provides successful fishing opportunities, particularly early in the season, with rainbow trout in the 11-12 inch range and cutthroat in the 8-10 inch range. The campground has 12 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Each site can accommodate 2 tents or 1 tent and 1 RV, with a maximum length of 25 feet. Mountain biking opportunities are available in the surrounding area. The campground is located 8 miles north of Winthrop off West Chewuch Road. Sites are $10 per night with an additional $5 fee for a second vehicle. Visitors can pay on-site using the Scan & Pay feature through the Recreation.gov mobile app or with cash or check.
